Dr. Bradley from the Bastyr University natural medicine diabetes clinic admits, “every now and then the ‘dark side’ gets to me.” What the naturopathic Dr. Bradley from the Bastyr University natural medicine diabetes clinic admits, “every now and then the ‘dark side’ gets to me.” What the naturopathic physician means is that sometimes, in a weak moment, he wonders if natural treatments for diabetes fit all that well into medical care. He worries about which supplements are proven as both safe and effective. He says Pycnogenol always snaps him out of the funk and “re-inspires [his] belief” and admirable work at Bastyr. Pycnogenol is a registered trademarked supplement derived from the bark of French maritime pine trees. The bark is rich in an antioxidant called oligomeric procyanidins or OPCs. The OPCs appear to lower blood glucose and improve the structure and function of the body’s small blood vessels, which, when exposed to chronic high blood sugar, can lead to such diabetes complications as vision loss, kidney damage, nerve damage, and amputation

More than 180 studies (mostly European) about Pycnogenol were completed in the last four decades. Findings were overwhelmingly positive in the supplement’s ability to decrease high blood pressure, lower LDL or bad cholesterol, and control blood glucose without adversely affecting all-important insulin levels. One specific plus: Pycnogenol appeared to repair capillaries in the eyes, reducing or eliminating leakage into the retina that, unchecked, could lead to major vision problems or blindness. Not surprisingly, Pycnogenol is the leading prescription among doctors in France who are treating patients for this condition called diabetic retinopathy.

The typical dose is 80 to 150 milligrams split up into two or three doses. Pycnogenol has even been used as a localized topical treatment for diabetic ulcers or open sores.

It seems it can greatly affect quality of life and decrease the likelihood of potential infection. In a small clinical trial, 30 subjects with diabetic ulcers were split into four groups: One group used standard medications each day, a second group took only Pycnogenol tablets, another applied two tablets crushed into a fine powder that were applied directly to the ulcerated skin (which was then wrapped), and the fourth group used both the powder application and oral dose. The results: Combination therapy allowed 89 percent of patients to completely heal in the first six weeks, compared to 85 percent for the oral Pycnogenol dose (50mg three times a day), 84 percent for the local application, and a significantly less 61 percent for the standard medications. Another major advantage to this supplement: It has been shown in studies to lower high blood pressure. Anyone diagnosed with Syndrome X would likely benefit from trying Pycnogenol, and it does not appear to hurt in any case. Research shows the optimal dose for regulating blood sugar level is 200 mg per day split over two to three doses. If high blood pressure is a concern, discover other natural remedies, like pycogenol, that can help.Click the link Below to watch a Video of DR PESCATORE, MD explain How PYCNOGENOL drastically Helps DIABETES in many ways CLICK HERE TO SEE
